YanMate

Talk to AI characters

Talking to an AI character on YanMate is opening one, signing in, and typing. There is no app to download and no scenario to configure first — sign in with Google or a six-digit code, and the character already has an opening for you to answer. The cast is original writing and public-domain figures, not licensed characters from games or television.

What you get in that conversation is the whole product rather than a demo of it: a character that keeps a memory you can open, and spoken replies and live calls on the free tier. The shelves below are the live catalogue, not a sample.

What you are actually talking to

Every character on YanMate is an AI. Everything it says is generated in the moment, not retrieved from a person who lived or from a script. That disclosure sits on every surface for a reason: the conversation is easy to forget is a performance.

The catalogue is original work and public-domain figures, written by the YanMate team. There is no licensed anime, game, film or television character here, and there is not going to be — see the content policy. If you came to talk to a specific property, this is the wrong site.

Memory is a list you can open, correct and export, not a claim that the model remembers you. Voice replies and live calls are on the free tier rather than held for a plan.

How it works

  1. Pick someone

The shelves on this page are the live catalogue, arranged by the kind of conversation. Every character has a public page with a portrait and a line about who they are.

  2. Sign in once

Google, or a six-digit code we email you. No password and no card, and the conversation is yours from the first message — it survives a new phone.

  3. Answer the opening

The conversation is already speaking. There is no setup screen and no questionnaire — the character has a first message and you reply to it.

What is free, and what signing in asks for, has its own page: free AI chat — same product, written for that query.

Common questions

What happens when I talk to an AI character on YanMate?
You open a character and it already has a first message. You answer it. YanMate does not assign you a companion, does not ask you to fill in a persona first, and does not make you pick a scenario — the character is written to start, and the rest is the conversation.
Are these licensed characters from games and shows?
No. YanMate's catalogue is original writing and public-domain figures, authored by the YanMate team. There is no licensed anime, game, film or television character, and there is not going to be. If you came for a specific property, this is the wrong site.
Do I have to pick a category before I can talk?
No. The shelves are a way to browse. Once you are signed in, opening any character on YanMate starts the conversation, whether you arrived from a shelf, from search, or from a link. Categories are labels on the catalogue, not a gate.
