What YanMate is

YanMate is a free place to talk with AI characters — original creations and figures from history, written by the YanMate team rather than borrowed from somebody else's show. Browse the shelves above as long as you like; to start talking, sign in with Google or a six-digit code we email you. There is no password to invent and no card to enter, and the conversation is yours from the first message.

A memory you can read

Characters remember what you tell them from one session to the next. What they learn is kept in a memory ledger you can open, correct, delete or export line by line. Facts about you are shared across your characters, so you only introduce yourself once.

Type, listen or call

Replies can be spoken aloud, and you can place a live voice call to a character for a real back-and-forth — useful for practising a language or rehearsing a conversation you are dreading.

Written to be safe to be in

YanMate is a general-audience service for people aged 13 and over, with no explicit content. Romantic characters sit behind a declared age of 18. Every character is an AI and says so, and none of them is a therapist.

Your conversations stay yours

We never train models on your conversations or use them for advertising. Exporting everything, or deleting your account outright, is a button in your settings rather than a request.

More in the FAQ, on about YanMate, and by browsing every shelf.
